Dinah D’s Fun Farm homemade Gomasio
Organic ingredients: Sesame Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Sea salt, Nori Seaweed. Conventional Ingredients: Nutritional Yeast . Occasionally organic unhulled sesame seeds, or Organic Black sesame seeds are added.
Gomasio, which translates to “sesame salt”, is a Japanese seasoning blend made from whole sesame seeds and salt. There are many variations, many include dried seaweed. Gomasio is naturally gluten free and vegan. It is a table condiment, often sprinkled over a variety of foods to add flavor and a touch of saltiness.
The beauty of this Japanese condiment is that you can quickly combine plain grains and/or a few cooked vegetables with a sprinkle of Gomasio and have a delicious meal. It’s wonderful sprinkled on avocado toast, popcorn, salads, dips, or anywhere else you’d enjoy an extra burst of savoury salty flavour and a vitamin-packed nutritional boost.
At the Fun Farm, we regularly use it on eggs for breakfast and noodle and rice bowls for dinner…YUM!
Note: Because this product is made of lightly toasted seeds, it stores best in the fridge or freezer.
